About the event
This time of year one of my favorite activities is to be outside exploring nature - whether in the yard or in the woods. It's also the perfect time to be harvesting spring greens from our gardens and to learn about native plants in the wild that are safe to eat.
Come to our workshop on July 17 at 6:00 where we'll be discussing "Food and Foraging." We'll walk the grounds to identify wild edibles and sample fresh picked peas, arugula, radish, and a "weed pesto" made with wild plants. Everyone will receive a handout with practical information on safe foraging.
The Peas & Love Community Garden is a vegan organic ("veganic") teaching garden abundant with vegetables, fruits, and herbs grown without the use of any animal products. It is surrounded by several acres of woods with paths to explore.
Workshop is FREE, though donations ($5-10) are greatly appreciated so that we may continue to offer garden programs like this.
